This is a short video clip of a lindy hop class recap on a variation focusing on the Charleston rhythm.  In this master class session Grace Durant and I empowered the students with the understanding of how to fix themselves fundamentally during social dancing so that they could begin to start embellishing the principles that make the dance work with their respective styles.

It’s not easy standing in the middle of a master class looking at the faces of students and tell them they need to change their perspective – especially one that focuses more on the how instead of the what.

The students in this class were challenged to understand and shift their focus on the foundation – the mindset behind the moves and because of it, their skills drastically improved in our 2 hour class session.  Try practicing the “Moonwalk” Charleston variation.

See you in class. You can do it!
